Tre Skinkor #3
Rövarracet 2026

Four hours in the rain and the cold (it dried a little mid-afternoon, then rained again from about 15:08), 41 cars, 14 stops and one penalty. We ran P9 to P10 for most of the afternoon, were P8 on pace at the flag, and finished P13 after a one-lap penalty landed four minutes from the end. This is what happened, lap by lap, and what we take into next year.

Race events

Positions come from the official, recomputed timing, so our penalty already counts from the deleted crossing at 15:32. On the day, the live screens only showed it at about 16:00.

The race

Four hours in one line

Our live position as the pit wall saw it, every lap. The coloured bands show who was in the car.

We started from the pit lane in a rolling start and were P5 after the first laps. Martin's opening stint in the worst of the wet dropped us to the back half of the top ten, and from there the race settled into a pattern: Alex's stints climbed (P11 to P7 twice), the stops cost us places back, and we held P9 to P10 through the afternoon.

The weather played its part: the track dried a little in the middle of the afternoon, which is where Alex set the team's best lap, and the rain came back from about 15:08. Three moments shaped the result. The refuel at 15:06 kept us stationary for 102 seconds and cost three places. A crossing at 15:32 was later deleted by race control. And at about 16:00, with four minutes left, the penalty reached the live timing and we dropped from P9 to P13 in one lap.

Lap times

Every lap, faster up

All 107 timed laps. Faster laps sit higher. Pit laps and out-laps are hollow and pinned to the bottom of the scale; the 4:16 lap 94 is the penalty.

Stints

Twelve stints, even time

The plan was 12 stints over the four hours, rotation Arvid, Martin, Calle, Alex. Driving time ended up even: Arvid 1:02:08, Martin 1:00:26, Alex 1:00:03, Calle 57:22.

Pit stops

Fourteen stops, one long one

From the in-car logger: time in the 255 m pit lane, time standing still, and the top speed of the driver in and out. The limit is 20 km/h.

Average speed through the lane was 12.7 to 17.4 km/h on every stop. The 21 to 22 km/h peaks are single GPS readings, within GPS accuracy, and no pit-speed penalty was given. Two stops were never tapped in the app: Calle's drive-through at 15:38 and the change to Alex at 15:43.

The penalty

One deleted lap, five places

Alex was penalised one lap for aggressive driving. Race control applied it by deleting one of our line crossings: the one at 15:32:08. Officially, lap 94 became a single 4:16.059 lap, exactly our two real laps (2:09.303 and 2:06.756) added together.

As racedP13108 laps
Without our penaltyP8109 laps, ahead of Volvorines on time
Without the refuelP1099 s sooner, still 108 laps
Without bothP8P7 had 110 laps

We were not alone: race control deleted 16 crossings from 13 teams, including Team Ambulans, Volvorines and Nordic Rental just ahead of us. The penalty only showed on the live screens about 28 minutes after the deleted crossing, so nobody in our pit knew why we suddenly dropped. Without the refuel we would still have finished 3.7 s after the winner took the flag, so on the same lap count; the extra lap was that close.

Drivers

Pace in equal conditions

A simple model takes out the time of the race and the fuel load and compares the drivers on clean laps without traffic. It cannot see the weather: the track dried a little during Alex's 14:25 stint and the rain came back just after Martin went out at 15:08. So read the gaps as wet-weather patterns, and Alex's lead as partly the drier track.

Gap to the fastest driver, seconds per lap

Whiskers: 90 % interval. 60 clean laps.

Speed through the lap

Median speed by distance. Pick a driver to highlight; the others are grey. Dashed lines are the Speedhive sector lines.

Alex

Fastest, partly on a drier track

Best lap of the race (1:58.370) came as the track dried in his 14:25 stint. Still the quickest in the wet: median 2:02.9 and 2:01.2 in his other stints, against 2:04.5 to 2:10.5 for everyone else. 3 to 5 km/h more minimum speed than the others through most slow corners. Quickest through the 37 % and 48 % chicanes. Most throttle on average (57 %).

Arvid

+2.6 s, best in the last chicane

Quickest of all through the 92 % chicane (10.62 s). Loses 0.5 to 0.7 s a lap in the first two chicanes. Best lap 2:01.715.

Martin

+4.5 s, spread around the lap

Loses a little at all three chicanes and on the long left-hander near 20 % of the lap. Second quickest through the 37 % and 48 % chicanes. Best lap 2:04.752.

Calle

+5.1 s, the last chicane

About 1.2 s a lap in the 92 % chicane alone: 25 km/h at the slowest point against 28 to 30 for the others. High minimum speed in the 48 % chicane but loses it on the way out. Best lap 2:04.631.

Segments

Where the time goes

The lap split into 40 segments of about 58 m. Tap a segment on the map, or pick a sector or chicane, to compare the drivers there. Colour shows the spread between the fastest and slowest driver.

Pit wall app

First race with our own pit wall

The app replaced last year's spreadsheet: driver taps, stint timers, live timing from Speedhive and warnings on the phones.

Worked
  • Live position, gaps and lap times from Speedhive all race, seconds after each crossing.
  • Even driving time: within five minutes across four drivers.
  • Stint warnings and track flags pushed to the phones.
  • Everything recorded, which is why this report exists.
Missed
  • Two stops never tapped (15:38, 15:43), so the app showed 12 stops and a -2 lap penalty that did not exist.
  • The penalty arrived as a silent drop from P9 to P13; the app ignored the lap count going down.
  • The refuel was logged as a normal stop.
  • The lap chart felt upside down; tactics were confusing.
Building
  • Stops counted from Speedhive's own pit counter, no tapping.
  • Penalties detected live, for us and the cars around us.
  • Fuel stops in the plan; rivals' stops owed.
  • Stint details when a driver comes in; driver signals over the radio.
Next year

Keep, fix, try

Keep
  • 12 stints of about 20 minutes, 3 drive-throughs: no stop penalty, even time.
  • The rotation and short driver changes (7 to 16 s standing still).
  • Clean pit lane: no speeding penalty this year.
Fix
  • Fuel: the refuel cost 99 s and three places. Measure consumption and decide on numbers whether we need it at all.
  • Racing clean: one aggressive-driving lap cost five places, more than any stop.
  • Tap every stop, until the app counts them itself.
Try
  • Chicane practice: the three chicanes hold most of the gap between us.
  • A pit display on a screen in the pit box.
  • Log RaceChrono again, from the first lap: it made this report possible.
